About Wolverine Human Services
Wolverine Human Services is a Michigan-based organization serving youth, families, and communities through residential care, foster care, adoption, behavioral health, and community-based services.
We do serious work—but we don’t want boring social media.
We’re looking for a creative, culturally aware content creator who can help us build a fun, bold, cheeky, and recognizable social media presence across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and beyond.
Position Overview
The Summer Social Media Content Creator Intern will plan, create, edit, and publish short-form content throughout the summer. You’ll collaborate with our communications team to produce engaging videos, recurring content series, and trend-based posts that feel fresh, real, and memorable—while still respecting the importance of our work.
This role focuses on helping Wolverine become more visible, relatable, and engaging online.
Key Responsibilities
🎬 Content Creation & Execution
- Create short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and other platforms
- Film and capture behind-the-scenes content at programs, offices, and events
- Write captions, hooks, on-screen text, and hashtags
- Develop recurring content series that can continue beyond the internship
đź’ˇ Strategy & Creativity
- Help shape a fun, recognizable social media voice
- Identify and adapt trends appropriately for a human services audience
- Generate new content ideas based on performance and engagement
- Contribute to recruitment, awareness, and storytelling campaigns
🤝 Collaboration & Engagement
- Interview staff, leadership, and program teams
- Work with communications and program staff to gather content ideas
- Help maintain a weekly content calendar
- Support daily or near-daily posting
📊 Performance Tracking
- Track basic metrics (views, likes, shares, comments, follower growth)
- Recommend improvements based on performance

What We’re Looking For
We want someone who is creative, organized, and comfortable turning ideas into content quickly.
Ideal candidates:
- Are a current college student or recent graduate
- Understand TikTok, Reels, and internet culture
- Have a strong sense of humor (without being inappropriate)
- Can create content that feels natural—not overly corporate
- Are comfortable filming, editing, and being on camera (when needed)
- Can work independently and bring new ideas forward
- Are interested in marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or human services
- Respect confidentiality and sensitive topics
- Are open to feedback and quick revisions
