Job Description

The Laboratory Lead oversees the workflow and lab functions in our medical clinics. They perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service.

As part of the essential functions of this role, the Laboratory Lead:


  • Oversees daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate specimen collection and processing. 
  • Collaborates with and supports team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care
  • Performs clerical duties that drive efficient patient flow
  • Facilitates lab and diagnostic tests at the request of the ordering provider
  • Handles complex or difficult blood draws, including pediatric, geriatric, and patients with challenging venous access. 
  • Conducts a review of scheduled patient charts to assist with pre-visit planning


Qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification and strong phlebotomy skills; CMA (AAMA) certification, 1-2 years in a medical office setting preferred; prior training experience and knowledge of EMR’s (Medent) is strongly preferred; must have the ability to travel between Evergreen work locations; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential


Job type: Full-time; M-F 8-4 

Required Education/Certification: High school diploma/GED; BLS/CPR certificate

Preferred Certification/Experience: CMA (AAMA) certification; 1-2 years in a medical office setting preferred; prior training experience preferred; experience with using EMR (Medent)
