Job Description

Hadco Construction is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and semis used in dirt and construction environments. This role ensures our equipment stays reliable and safe under demanding job site conditions.



What You’ll Do




  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks and semis

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime

  • Troubleshoot issues related to equipment working in dirt and off-road conditions

  • Complete work orders and service records with accuracy and detail

  • Operate vehicles to test systems after repairs

  • Respond to field service calls when trucks require on-site repair

  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times



What We’re Looking For




  • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy-duty trucks or semis

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems

  • Familiarity with DOT requirements and inspections for commercial trucks

  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical documentation

  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen



Physical Demands & Working Conditions




  • Frequent lifting and moving of parts and tools weighing 50+ lbs.

  • Regular bending, kneeling, and climbing on/off trucks and equipment

  • Work performed in both shop and outdoor environments, often in dirt and construction site conditions

  • Exposure to grease, fumes, noise, and heavy machinery on a daily basis
