GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Environmental Services Coordinator is the main contact for all EVS requests and is responsible for maintaining all department call records, including status reports, tracking records and final dispensation of reports. This person will also be responsible for scheduling all resident requests as captured via EVS Hotline or emails. They are also responsible to make adjustments to the daily Housekeeper schedule as a result of changes due to call offs, sick days and resident emergencies.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Coordinates and organizes the master cleaning schedule of all unit cleaning and special cleaning projects in a timely manner. Communicates with Residents regarding their cleaning schedule.
- Answers our EVS call extension, maintaining all requests and directing those requests to the appropriate EVS function. All calls are to be responded to within one business day.
- Keeps all required department records, messages, notes and reports. Keeps all departmental logs current including input of all Worxhub entries. All reports to be submitted to EVS Manager and Director for review.
- Dispatches housekeeping and custodian personnel to areas in need of cleaning.
- Keeps track of and turns in Resident billing and monthly cleaning report.
- Coordinates and schedules annual deep unit cleanings with the Environmental Services Manager. Supervises the daily vendor schedules for carpet and deep cleaning if necessary.
- Assists Manager with assigning turnover of units for cleaning as needed.
- Prepares the move-in folder (EVS packet, laundry bag, etc.) for new and transferring Residents
- Participates and leads daily line up meeting with housekeepers with EVS Director and Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining excellent relations with the residents and promoting good departmental morale.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Management Team.
- Oversee the procuring of supplies, chemicals, and equipment with the EVS Lead. They will assist in taking Month End Inventories with EVS Manager and Director.
What You Will Bring:
- At least three years of environmental services supervisor experience in a retirement facility, hotel, hospital, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of floor equipment, carpet care, general cleaning, and laundry equipment, and comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping chemicals and MSDS compliance. Knowledge of infection control.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A passion for giving excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- 2 years + Experience in handling high volumes of calls with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills.
- High School/GED education required. Special courses in environmental services or institutional management are desirable.
- Needs strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Environmental Services Department.
- Spanish speaking a plus
