Ackerman-Estvold is looking for a seasoned construction professional who understands how projects come together in the real world and wants to play a critical role in making sure they are executed right. In this position, you will be the bridge between design and construction-ensuring what gets built aligns with the architect's intent, the client's expectations, and the project's standards.
This is not a desk-only job. It's a balance of field presence, problem-solving, and coordination-where your experience will directly impact quality, timelines, and outcomes.
What You'll Do
You will work alongside project managers and design teams throughout the construction phase, serving as a key resource for contractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Conduct site visits and observe construction progress to ensure alignment with plans and specifications
- Lead or participate in construction meetings and communicate clearly with contractors and stakeholders
- Review submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and project changes with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Help resolve field issues quickly to keep projects moving forward
- Support project managers with documentation, schedules, and construction administration tasks
- Participate in constructability and quality assurance reviews during design phases
- Coordinate substantial completion, final inspections, and project closeout
What You Bring
This role is built for someone who understands construction from experience and can apply that knowledge in a more strategic, advisory capacity.
- 5+ years of construction, construction management, or related project experience
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents with confidence
- Experience working with contractors and navigating real-world jobsite challenges
- Strong communication skills with the ability to hold others accountable while maintaining professional relationships
- Organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- A sense of urgency-you understand that delays in decisions impact cost, schedule, and momentum
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AIA documents, project management software, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus
- Willingness to travel throughout western North Dakota
Compensation & Benefits
- $30–$50 per hour, depending on experience
- Full-time, exempt position eligible for overtime (paid at straight overtime 1 times your hourly rate over 40 hours)
