GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Camp NOVA is a 7-day, 6-night overnight camp for youth and adults living with epilepsy and/or other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Camp NOVA will take place from July 18th-25th, 2026, at Camp Linwood-MacDonald in Sandyston, NJ (Sussex County). Camp NOVA is hosted by Epilepsy Services of New Jersey, an affiliate of The Family Resource Network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse who will be responsible for the medical needs of individuals with epilepsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Nurse will stay on-site for the duration of camp and be responsible for:
Distribution of medication, as prescribed and documented by a physician for each participant
Review camper health profiles and prepare any relevant questions for parents/guardians at drop-off
Document medication administration for each participant
Staff infirmary throughout the day and be available for any medical assistance needed
Respond to all injuries and write corresponding incident reports
Review all clients’ medical records and provide input to the Director(s) and Counselors regarding plans of care
Remain on-call overnight in case of medical emergencies
Provide medical information and resources to Camp NOVA staff as needed
Participate in staff training prior to the week of camp
Report to Lead Camp Nurse
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Camp administration
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
