Summary

As an Auto Body Painter, you�ll prep metal, plastic, and composite surfaces and apply primer, basecoat, and clearcoat to meet CollisionRight standards for color match, texture, and durability.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Perform proper surface prep; clean, sand, and prime as required

  • Mask glass/trim; protect non-paint areas to minimize tape lines/overspray

  • Spray primer, base, and clear (waterborne or solvent systems)

  • Mix & match paints; verify color/effect prior to application

  • Buff/sand finished panels to finish standards

  • Assist with minor body work to prepare vehicles for paint

  • Use required PPE; follow OSHA and hazardous-waste procedures

  • Clean and maintain spray guns, booths, and related equipment

  • Inspect finished work for quality and accuracy

Qualifications

  • 1�3+ years professional auto refinish experience (MSO/dealership/independent)

  • Strong knowledge of surface prep, masking, priming, and refinish workflows

  • Proficient with spray guns/equipment and color matching

  • Excellent eyesight/color perception; high attention to detail

  • Safety-minded; follows written and verbal instructions

  • Able to lift 35 lbs routinely (occasionally 70+ lbs); comfortable with climbing/stooping/kneeling/crouching

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, production environment
