Job Description

Proof of the Pudding is looking for a Venue Manager to work in conjunction with the Catering Sales Manager to ensure a high-quality product and experience for all clients and the venue, with an emphasis on day of execution.  This role is responsible for the management of the venue for all events to include, but not limited to; opening the venue, managing the space during the event, closing the venue, maintaining inventory on equipment and product, assisting with site visits, drop offs, vendors, strengthening client internal and vendor relationships, and other duties as assigned. 

The Venue Manager provides comprehensive operational leadership across The Dogwood, Summit at 8 West and Collier Hall, overseeing all aspects of event setup, execution, and teardown within each unique environment. The role partners closely with approved caterers, in-house beverage teams, and vendor partners to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Meeting clients for site visits in the event the Catering Sales Manager is not available. 

  • Read floorplans and coordinate with onsite team and vendors for set up. 

  • Working with the sales team and or client to provide event needs such as security needs, room flips, and bathroom attendants 

  • Coordinate with all event vendors on load in – load out; keeping with scheduled rental event times 

  • Once outside vender list is received from client, communicate with all outside venders for each event to ensure vender agreement is signed and on file. 

  • Confirm on-site vender contacts for day of event, plus load-in and load-out. 

  • Follow-up that Catering Sales Manager has reviewed venue guidelines with client.   

  • Create & maintain basic equipment kit – such as extension cords, painters tape, etc. 

  • Meeting clients for drop offs, such as centerpieces, décor, etc 

  • Opening venue for event days to include but not limited to adjusting AC, turning on lights, double checking set up, etc. 

  • Acting as a venue point of contact for clients during events  

  • Closing venue for event days (including such items as checking out vendors, room flips, resetting AC, turning off lights, locking all doors, etc) 

  • Completing Damage Report for all damages at the end of event 

  • Assisting with offsite events as needed and assigned by Operations 

  • Ensure security is relieved at appropriate time, and housekeeping completes all tasks before signing out.  

Performs other related duties as needed.
