The City of Topeka�s Housing Services Division is seeking a dedicated individual to join its team as the Equity Access Shelter (EAS) Program Coordinator. This position works with the Topeka/Shawnee County Continuum of Care (CoC), multiple partnering agencies, and consumers to ensure access to housing services. The incumbent oversees the Coordinated Entry process into HUD's HMIS system and will assist clients with being added to the by name list and obtaining housing services.

Primary duties include:

  • Work as the Coordinated Entry Liaison with the Topeka/Shawnee County CoC, partner agencies, and homeless outreach teams to assist individuals needing housing.

    • This includes working with partner agencies on funding availability and coordinating client services with them.
  • Oversee and provide assistance to the CoC's single point of access site.
  • Follow up with individuals receiving assistance to ensure they are getting additional services as needed after being housed.
  • Attend the Homeless Task Force meetings and other community meetings as needed, providing data and reports on the Coordinated Entry System.

  • Has strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to community engagement.
  • Is relationship-driven, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, City staff, elected officials and agency partners in a variety of settings.
  • Is highly organized, with the ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor�s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or human services with one to three years of experience in these fields OR
  • Without a bachelor�s degree, a high school diploma or its equivalent is required with three or more years of experience in social work or human services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver�s license and must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka�s insurance carrier.

Minimum entry rate of pay: $23.07 per hour
