I. Job Title: Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach
II. Starting Date: 2026-2027 Season
III. Job Qualifications: High school coaching experience preferred.
Ability to teach fundamental skills and mechanics through various practices and
drills.
Ability to teach or encourage sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and teamwork.
Knowledge of strategies of the game and situational strategies in managing the game.
Must be a positive influence on the behaviors of team members.
Must be flexible and available to assist with seasonal and off-season workouts.
Work collaboratively with the varsity coach in developing the HS and MS program.
Must have knowledge of MHSAA rules and regulations and abide by them.
Be willing to complete any requirements of the MHSAA and Byron Area Schools
Athletic Department.
IV. Responsibilities: To lead the teaching of safe and proper training, conditioning, and performance
techniques in all phases of the program.
To assist in developing a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism at all levels of
the program.
To promote high academic standards for all student athletes.
To foster an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire to win, an attitude of good
sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, school, and community.
To work collaboratively with coaches at other levels of the program to establish a
well-balanced program.
Communicate effectively with players, families, and administration.
V. Salary: Per BEA Schedule B Contract; $2,495.78
