Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and versatile PRN Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our

healthcare team. This is an as-needed position where the individual will provide coverage for

fulltime employees in their absence. This position will be responsible for managing front-office

tasks, providing administrative support, and assisting with clinical duties as a medical assistant.

The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a

compassionate attitude toward patients.



Key Responsibilities:

Receptionist Duties:

 Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional

atmosphere.

 Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.

 Verify patient insurance information, handle billing inquiries, and ensure accurate patient

records.

 Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality.

 Manage patient flow in the office, coordinating with the clinical team to ensure timely

appointments.

 Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining office supplies.

Medical Assistant Duties:

 Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight.

 Assist physicians with patient exams, procedures, and treatments as directed.

 Prepare patients for examination and provide necessary instructions or information.

 Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications under the direction of a healthcare

provider.

 Assist in laboratory specimen collection and prepare them for testing.

 Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms.

 Perform routine administrative tasks, such as entering patient information into the

electronic health record (EHR) system.
