🌲 Assistant Camp Director – Residential Camp (Seasonal)

📍 Rock Hill Camp | Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc.
🕒 Full-Time, Seasonal from June to August

Compensation: 💰 $5,137.50 – $5,625 (Seasonal Stipend)

Ready to take your camp leadership experience to the next level? Join Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson as an Assistant Camp Director and help create unforgettable experiences for campers while developing the next generation of leaders.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Camp Director to bring programs to life, mentor staff, and ensure a safe, fun, and empowering environment rooted in the values of the Girl Scout movement.

💼 What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Camp Director to plan and lead pre-camp staff training, including program delivery and daily operations
  • Support and coach Lead Counselors in delivering engaging Girl Scout programming (Badges, Journeys, and more)
  • Oversee and approve weekly schedules for camp units and activities
  • Coordinate off-site trips and special experiences with community partners
  • Monitor camper engagement and analyze program success through observations and staff feedback
  • Step in to lead camp operations in the Director’s absence
  • Facilitate ongoing staff development and in-service trainings
  • Ensure all programming aligns with Girl Scouts USA, ACA, and NYS Health Department standards

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • Age 21+ with a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a camp setting
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Passion for youth development, outdoor programming, and team building
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic camp environment

Preferred:

  • Prior Girl Scout experience
  • CPR & First Aid certification
  • Active Girl Scout membership (required upon hire)

  • Ability to stay active and on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable lifting/carrying 15+ lbs
  • Able to navigate outdoor and uneven terrain
  • Enthusiasm for working outdoors in all summer conditions
