Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant supports AFG’s mission by providing administrative and operational support to the Human Resources and Fund Development departments. The role helps to ensure effective and efficient operations within both departments by supporting execution of projects and activities related to both HR function and fundraising and volunteer efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

Fund Development

  • Support general administrative functions for the development team including managing development calendar, deadlines, and materials support
  • Supporting projects related to Volunteer Database Management & tracking
  • Assist with volunteer recognition and appreciation efforts
  • Assist with informational booths, representing AFG in community
  • Generating reports and mailing lists
  • Assisting and providing logistical support with campaigns, appeals and stewardship activities
  • Assisting with coordination and onboarding of volunteers (i.e. scheduling, assignments, etc.) in collaboration with community impact manager

Human Resources

  • Track and Maintain compliance as it relates to personnel files (i.e. attendance, PTO, leave records, FMLA documentation, etc.)
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Support employee engagement activities and HR related events
  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork and assisting with coordinating orientation
  • Support general administrative functions for HR team

Acquired Knowledge: 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality 
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and responsive
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP) preferred
