About the role



We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and diary management support to senior academic staff. This role requires excellent organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be part time 18.25 hrs p/w for an initial duration of 4 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

  • Manage complex diaries, prioritising and coordinating meetings and appointments
  • Act as first point of contact for visitors, staff and external enquiries
  • Draft correspondence, prepare briefing materials and respond to routine queries on behalf of senior staff
  • Organise meetings and events, including venues, catering and logistics
  • Arrange UK and international travel, including visas where required
  • Prepare and circulate agendas, papers and minutes
  • Provide financial administration support, including expenses, invoices and allowances
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and records in line with policies and procedures
  • Review and improve administrative processes where appropriate
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation
  • Provide administrative support to associated research groups and projects

Selection Criteria:

  • GCSE-level education or equivalent experience
  • Experience of diary management and complex travel coordination
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to prepare professional documents
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Good numeracy skills and ability to manage financial administration
  • Experience handling confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
