We are seeking a Quality Technician!

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Provide technical and functional support to the Manufacturing Operations team relating to product quality and continuous improvement of processing, equipment, and tooling while adhering to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

1. Quality Assurance:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including results, actions, and approved deviations.
  • Participate in the SWAT process and document findings in the warranty database.
  • Perform and document torque tooling monitoring and calibration.
  • Use CMM to perform quality checks. With training write new CMM programs.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Select and test products for quality indicators throughout the production process.
  • Conduct destructive and nondestructive testing on materials, parts, or products.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design or fixture improvements.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

2. Technical Knowledge:

  • Hands on experience in 2 of the following: CNC machining, MIG welding, press brakes, or profile equipment.
  • Some knowledge of lean tools and how to apply them.

3. Communication:

  • Effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve issues.

4. Problem-Solving:

  • Utilize mechanical aptitude and analytical skills to identify and address challenges.
  • Make sound decisions and take decisive action.

5. Technical Skills:

  • Read and interpret engineering prints and specifications.
  • Understands weld fixtures.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

1. Education:

  • High school or equivalent diploma.

2. Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication or machine shop environment. The ability to setup at least 2 pieces of fabrication equipment is preferred.

3. Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows environment.
  • Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions and ratios.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational (physical and digital) skills.

4. Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

5. Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced factory environment.
  • Exposure to welding fumes, loud noises, and other manufacturing hazards.
  • Must wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Fork truck training and license may be required.
