Job Description

Job Overview
The Dock Experts is seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Formwork Technician to join our dynamic marine construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, forming, and dismantling concrete formwork systems that shape and support poured concrete structures. Your expertise will ensure the precision and safety of formwork setups, contributing directly to the successful completion of various marine construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints to accurately set up seawalls.
  • Assemble, install, and secure formwork components using hand tools and power tools, ensuring alignment and stability.
  • Install rebar reinforcement within formwork structures to provide strength and durability for concrete pours.
  • Conduct inspections of formwork during construction to identify issues and make necessary adjustments for quality assurance.
  • Demolish or dismantle formwork after concrete has cured, ensuring safe removal without damaging the structure.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on concrete forming.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, machinery, and equipment used in formwork installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of rebar installation, concrete pouring processes, and finishing techniques.
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols on construction sites including caulking, framing, metal stud framing, masonry work, welding, roofing, renovation techniques, and restoration processes is a plus.
