Job Summary:

The Packaging Specialist is responsible for accurately weighing, packaging, and labeling products in accordance with state guidelines and company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and compliance procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weighing and Packaging: Accurately weigh products and place them into appropriate containers
  • Labeling: Ensure all products are labeled correctly with the necessary information, including strain, weight, and potency
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality control to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory of packaging materials and finished products
  • Compliance: Adhere to all state and local regulations regarding cannabis packaging and labeling
  • Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized regularly
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets
  • Reporting: Document and report any discrepancies or issues with packaging processes

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment, preferably in the industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of state and local cannabis regulations is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for 5-hour increments (10 hour shifts), move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
