About the Role

The Auto Paint Prepper prepares vehicles for refinishing and reassembly�ensuring every surface is clean, masked, primed, and ready for a flawless finish.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Review each repair order thoroughly before starting work

• Complete all paint preparation processes for the vehicle

• Prime, edge, or jam replacement parts as needed

• Properly sand and prep new and blend panels; featheredge for primer

• Block panels for refinishing; mask and spray correct primer coats

• Mask all panels and cover vehicles to minimize tape lines and overspray

• Use required PPE and follow proper refinishing procedures (OSHA compliant)

• Adhere to hazardous waste disposal requirements

• Maintain a clean, organized work area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail

• Valid driver�s license

Physical Demands

• Sit/stand for prolonged periods; perform repetitive tasks

• Vision: close, distance, and depth perception

• Periodic lifting/carrying 50+ lbs

• Reach above/below shoulder level; extended kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping

• Strong eye�hand coordination

• Exposure to fumes/chemicals/dust/noise in repair areas

• Ability to wear PPE, including a respirator
