Job Description

I. Purpose of Position



HealthWorks Family Medicine is looking for a self-motivated and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our primary care medical team. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule. Hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Some late afternoon, short notice overtime is also a possibility. 



II.  Duties & Responsibilities



Under immediate supervision, supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in the provision of patient care; includes recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation.

Duties may include any and/or all of the following:

•    Assists with providing patient care: records vital signs; discusses and records chief health concerns; performs tests; administers injections.

•    Pulls and prepares patient charts; answers the phone; performs other general office duties as required.

•    Maintains neatness of work area; stocks patient rooms with supplies.

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

•    Autoclave instruments





III.  Knowledge & Experience



•    Associate’s Degree (preferred)

•    Phlebotomy experience is a plus

•    BLS certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.

•    CNA Licensure or Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure (KY State Licensure Required)
