Job Description

The Security Supervisor works as a liaison between the Sergeants/Security Officers and the Assistant Director and will be responsible for Sergeant oversight to ensure the efficient operation of the Security Department. 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Demonstrate Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respect in the performance of assigned duties.

  • Ensure continuity and consistency of execution in the performance of the officer force mission across all sections/shifts.

  • Develop draft security and contingency plans for special events to be approved by the Director of Security with input from the Assistant Director.

  • Upgrade officer force plans and policies at least semi-annually. Incorporate interim policy changes still in effect.

  • Audit equipment and post inventories monthly; report unserviceable or unaccounted for equipment.

  • Document interim policy changes, special instructions, and modifications to post orders. Prepare the same for orderly dissemination to the officer force.

  • Be prepared to serve as on-scene commander in the event of emergency contingencies until senior, qualified members of the officer force arrive, or until the appropriate public safety agency assumes command of the incident.  Orient or direct third-party agency responders to incident when not serving as the Incident Commander. 

  • Support the preparation of officer training curriculum and exercises; periodically supervise/audit officer force training and exercises.

  • Periodically audit officer force training records; ensure that officers assigned to posts are qualified to stand them.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
