Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, the Coil Technician is responsible for operating automatic winding machines, including bobbin winders to produce precision coils for use in components meeting all necessary electronic, dimensional, and functional criteria.
What you will do:
- Wind copper magnet wire of various gauges onto steel bobbins using armature winding techniques to meet production standards.
- Review technical prints and operation sheets to guide work processes.
- Operate mechanical counters and make necessary adjustments during winding.
- Use hand tools to trim wire and thread with precision.
- Submit completed bobbins for wire and solder inspection by the Group Leader.
- Perform visual inspections of raw materials and finished products using magnifiers and microscopes (5x and 10x magnification).
- Work from moderately complex charts and documentation.
- Carry out all tasks in accordance with quality and safety guidelines.
- Finish encapsulated product to customer specifications
- Work with fiberglass tape
- Work with various non-hazardous chemicals
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work precisely with fine-gauge magnet wire and small components.
- High attention to detail in aligning and wrapping wire side-by-side onto lead wires with consistent precision.
- Skilled in identifying product issues and ensuring compliance with visual and electrical inspection criteria.
- Comfortable working under magnification and with small, delicate components requiring patience and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- An Associates or technical degree and six months of experience preferred.
- Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and perform close in precision work on small parts.
- Must be able to work with accuracy and effective time management.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and good manual dexterity in both hands.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sketches, and understand measuring instruments is a plus.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm
Physical Requirements:
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in office setting.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Vision: Visual acuity Eyesight 20/25 with or without correction. Will be required to take and pass a color blindness test for visual inspections. Work on computer for long periods of time.
Other: May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, and standing, walking, squatting, sitting, and looking at a computer screen for long periods at a time.
