The Applications Analyst is a member of a diverse IT team providing technical leadership and operational support for business applications, data platforms, and reporting systems. This role focuses on application administration, system migrations, data integrations, and business reporting while working closely with third-party vendors and technical staff.
The position ensures that institutional data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, supporting Campus Dining and Shops’ operational, financial, and compliance needs. The Applications Analyst helps manage the lifecycle of business applications, supports data movement between systems, and delivers reporting and dashboards that translate operational data into meaningful insight.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position typically 40 - 45 hours per week Monday through Friday and is on call for emergencies. This position will occasionally include the need for flex time for weekend and/or evening hours for special events and during peak periods or special projects. Some upgrades may require late night or overnight work. Event driven remote work is possible.
Essential Functions
Application Administration
· Administer, configure, and support business applications including POS, food management suite, financial, reporting, and vendor-hosted platforms.
· Lead and support application-level migrations, upgrades, and system transitions, including planning, testing, validation, and post-migration support.
· Serve as a technical liaison between third-party vendors, University technical staff, and internal stakeholders.
· Create application documentation, installation and configuration documentation, and initial operational procedures.
· Perform application troubleshooting by working with end-users and technical staff.
Data Management and Integrations
· Develop and maintain familiarity with business application data models, schemas, and data flows.
· Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities between business systems.
· Validate data integrity, accuracy, and completeness following migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
· Assist with maintaining data governance, retention, and compliance requirements including PCI and categorized private data.
General IT Operations
· General IT support in all areas of the department.
· Troubleshoots IT tickets and calls, route as necessary.
· Creates efficiencies within CDS by means of available technology.
· Uphold data security compliance including PCI and Categorized private data.
· Maintain and safe and secure work environment and support CDS safety initiatives.
· Daily and weekly monitoring of systems status.
· Comply with department and corporate policies and procedures.
· Training power users and product champions on changes and updates to applications.
· Development of training documents and tools.

Education and Training
Qualifications include:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 3 years experience in related IT field.
Desired Qualifications
· Experience supporting business applications and vendor-hosted platforms.
· Demonstrated experience with application migrations or system implementations.
· Strong understanding of relational data concepts and reporting structures.
· Experience with reporting tools, BI platforms, or dashboard development.
· Intermediate to advanced Windows Server or application server experience preferred.
· Familiarity with POS systems, financial systems, or ERP platforms preferred.
· Experience working directly with third-party vendors.
· General networking knowledge preferred.
· Additional non-technical skills
o Proficiency in teaching and demonstrating technical topics.
o Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
o Ability to work independently, and to build effective, spirited team environment.
o Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and handle emergency situations.

Work Environment
This position operates in an IT workshop environment with individual personal workspaces as well as general multipurpose project space.
Physical and Mental Demands

· While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
· The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
· Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices.
· The selected candidate will be required to complete and pass a background check including criminal history and motor vehicle verification.
