<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
• Review and code outpatient, ambulatory, and clinic records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes in accordance with coding guidelines. • Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, including E/M levels and appropriate modifiers, with a high degree of accuracy. • Ensure coding compliance with AMA, Medicare NCCI policies, and regulatory requirements. • Review and apply charges for services provided by physicians and the facility. • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive patient and hospital information and assist with monitoring coding workflows and systems.

<h3>Knowledge and Experience</h3>
• Must possess one of the following credentials: CPC, COC, CCA, or CCS-P. • Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting. • In-depth knowledge of outpatient coding/classification systems including diagnostic medicine, emergency room, outpatient surgery, general medicine/surgery, dental, and orthopedics. • Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and applicable coding and reimbursement guidelines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. • Proficiency with coding software applications and general office equipment including computers, fax machines, and copiers. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information. • Physical Requirements: Position is primarily sedentary with prolonged computer use and requires the ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand/keyboard movements.

<h3>Environment</h3>
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. This role works primarily indoors within the Health Information Management department, supporting hospital-wide operations through accurate and timely coding practices in a collaborative, professional environment. Job hazards include prolonged screen time, repetitive motion activities, and potential exposure to confidential and sensitive information requiring strict compliance with privacy regulations.

Coder 2

Job Summary
The STEAM Instructor will develop, adapt, and implement high-quality, interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) curriculum as a part of Kenaitze education, cultural, and language programs. The STEAM Instructor will collaborate with local education agencies and entities to provide experiential learning to Tribal youth and families that is reflective of Kenaitze Indian Tribe's cultural values and grounded in Dena'ina ways of teaching, including but not limited to close observation and emulation, place-based learning, and all senses experiential learning.
Essential Functions

<li style="line-height: normal;">Develops, implements, and adapts cultural STEAM curriculum focusing on Kenaitze core values, Dena'ina culture, heritage, and language</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Utilizes hands-on project based learning to teach concepts of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Adapts instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Fosters a creative and collaborative learning environment that encourages innovation and critical thinking</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Guides students through experiments, coding projects, engineering challenges and artistic applications</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Trains staff on and maintain STEAM-related tools such as 3-D printers, robotics kits, coding software and lab equipment</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Ensures a safe and organized learning environment by enforcing proper usage and safety protocols</li>
<li style="line-height: normal;">Collaborates with local education agencies and community partners to coordinate learning events and opportunities</li>
