PROJECT ENGINEER
 
The Project Engineer position is an entry-level position in the project management career path. Responsibilities including: assisting in project management tasks as assigned by project management team and development of skills and progressively take on more responsibilities. 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
<ul>
<li>Four-year degree in Construction Management or related degree</li>
<li>Some Internship, education or field experience</li>
</ul>
Preferred:
<ul>
<li>Estimating and field experience </li>
<li>Scheduling experience </li>
<li>Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and English</li>
</ul>
Skills:
<ul>
<li>Strong collaboration and communication skills</li>
<li>Thorough and detail-oriented</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints</li>
<li>Self-starter and motivated with minimal supervision</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, including Excel</li>
<li>Good verbal and written communication skills and computer skills</li>

CORE RESPONSIBLITIES:
Pursuit, Preconstruction and Business Development 
<ul>
<li>Assist pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements</li>
<li>Participate in QA/AC page turn sessions</li>
</ul>
McGough Self-Performed Work
<ul>
<li>Understand self-perform capabilities</li>
<li>Understand warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools and services</li>
</ul>
Estimating and Bidding
<ul>
<li>Perform quantity take-offs</li>
<li>Assist project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontractor bids</li>
<li>Assist in performing trade scope reviews</li>
</ul>
Scheduling
<ul>
<li>Assist superintendent and project manager with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling</li>
<li>Learn and understand Last Planner system</li>
<li>Participate in daily/weekly work planning</li>
</ul>
Project Documentation
<ul>
<li>Review all drawings and specifications</li>
<li>Upload/Download electronic documents and create shortcuts</li>
<li>Draft and process Requests for Information (RFI)</li>
<li>Review and process shop drawings/submittals</li>
<li>Participate in BIM coordination meetings</li>
<li>Assist in obtaining any LEED documentation</li>
</ul>
Subcontract Management
<ul>
<li>Assist project team in reviewing and processing subcontractor change requests</li>
<li>Assist project team in reviewing subcontractor invoices</li>
</ul>
Cost Control
<ul>
<li>Understand change document types and appropriate uses (CCDs, PRs, ASIs, etc.)</li>
<li>Assist superintendent in tracking labor costs</li>
<li>Assist superintendent with material procurement and cost coding</li>
<li>Collect and report cost history data as directed</li>
</ul>
Project Meetings
<ul>
<li>Attend all project and company safety meetings</li>
<li>Attend foreman’s meetings and draft meeting minutes</li>
<li>Attend construction coordination meetings and draft meeting minutes</li>
<li>Participate in start-up meetings</li>
<li>Participate in PACE meetings</li>
</ul>
Post-Construction 
<ul>
<li>Participate in punchlist process and monitor progress</li>
<li>Assist superintendent and project manager in preparing final as-built plans and documentation</li>
</ul>
Other Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Actively contribute as a member of the North Dakota Regional Team, collaborating to support shared goals and objectives</li>
<li>Participate in company business development activities (client functions, design firm open houses, conferences, etc.)</li>
<li>Establish relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors</li>
<li>Attend and participate in project management and other company meetings</li>
<li>Attend any training – personal and/or professional development – that is relevant to the position</li>
<li>Attend company-sponsored events</li>
<li>Support and follow standard of work</li>
<li>Participate in Lean events and support the McGough Way</li>
<li>Other responsibilities as assigned</li>
</ul>
 
OFFICE AND TRAVEL:

<li>Regular travel to jobsites is necessary</li>

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
